“To improve is to change. To be perfect is to change often.”

EAA is far from perfect, but I’m happy to report that we’re continually changing to fit the needs of animal advocates. To that end, we have some exciting developments taking place in the coming months:
EAA will be changing our name to Animal Charity Evaluators (ACE). We made this decision because it more accurately describes what we do, is more professional, and encompasses our revised mission statement.
We’ve updated our mission to: “Find and promote the best ways to help animals.” In addition to be making recommendations to donors, we will assist individual animal advocates seeking information on effective activism and continue building a network of dedicated effective altruists interested in animal causes.
We are working to launch a new, improved version of our website by the end of 2013. Featuring a professional framework and our new ACE logo, the new site will provide more intuitive access to information, and contain new high-quality content.
Additionally, we’re happy to welcome new Board Member Simon Knutsson. A former research analyst at Givewell and currently working with business development, Simon brings a wealth of useful experience to our organization. Learn more about Simon and the rest of our board here.
This time of transition also brings about the departure of Board Member and founder Eitan Fischer. Eitan gave a lot to this organization in its early stages, and produced much of the content you see on the current EAA site. We appreciate his contributions and wish him the best in his future endeavors.
The next three months will see ACE grow and transition into a much more effective organization, and I’m extremely enthusiastic about the direction we’re heading. What would you like to see from ACE? Please let us know in the comments section below.
Warm Regards,
Jon
