Legal Impact for Chickens (LIC) works to make factory-farm cruelty a liability in the United States. LIC files strategic lawsuits for chickens and other farmed animals, develops and refines creative methods to civilly enforce existing cruelty laws in factory farms, and sues companies that break animal welfare commitments. LIC’s first lawsuit, the shareholder derivative case against Costco’s executives for chicken neglect, was featured on TikTok and in multiple media outlets, including CNN Business, Fox Business, The Washington Post, and Meatingplace (an industry magazine for meat and poultry producers). I’m passionate about improving the lives of animals, but it’s challenging to identify the best charities for making an impact on animal welfare. That’s why I love ACE’s Recommended Charity Fund; it allows me to take advantage of a team of experts with extensive experience in assessing impact. The fund helps me feel confident that my donations are making a huge impact, and a larger impact than if I tried to find effective charities on my own.
Your donation is made to ACE. All funds collected by ACE for LIC will be distributed within 30 days after the end of any month in which we received donations for LIC from California donors, and at least twice a year in February and August. The only reasons ACE would not distribute LIC-designated funds would be (i) if we were not able to reach someone at LIC to facilitate the transfer, or (ii) LIC shut down. In that case, the funds would be redirected to our Recommended Charity Fund. No fees, other than digital payment processing fees and transfer fees, are taken from the donation amount.
