Animal Charity Evaluators (ACE) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit located in the United States and dedicated to finding and advocating for highly effective opportunities to improve the lives of animals. ACE aids compassionate givers, professionals, and volunteers in making informed decisions about how to help animals as effectively as possible. We strive to identify ways to alleviate suffering and improve the lives of animals on a wide scale, while continuously updating our recommendations based on new evidence.
Our Mission & Vision
Our mission is to find and promote the most effective ways to help animals. To do this, we analyze research on methods of helping animals in order to provide research about interventions and top-charity recommendations. We offer advice for effective animal advocacy and provide career, charity, and volunteering suggestions. Additionally we plan to work with other organizations to help them conduct their own research.
Based on our current findings and available research, advocating for farmed animals seems to be the most effective way to help animals and prevent the largest amount of suffering. Over eight billion land farmed animals (and 78 billion sea animals) are killed each year for the United States food supply. Research shows that, on average, a single person going vegetarian spares the suffering of 223 animals. Even modest reductions in consumption of animal products can make a large difference when applied on a large scale. Whereas other animal causes can cost tens or even hundreds of dollars per animal saved, convincing people to reduce or eliminate animal products can save many animals at a fraction of the cost. This is why our top charities are farm-animal advocacy groups.
