We are excited to announce the latest Movement Grants recipients! We received an outstanding response from animal advocates worldwide. From hundreds of expressions of interest, we invited and assessed 74 full applications. After careful review, we are proud to award $1,132,573 in grants to 21 projects and organizations working to reduce animal suffering across the globe.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our generous donors, expert advisors, and all the applicants. Most importantly, we celebrate our successful grantees and the vital work they will be undertaking.

Global
International Council for Animal Welfare
Amount awarded: $100,000
Grant activities: The International Council for Animal Welfare will use this grant to invest in grassroots movement building for animal welfare pressure campaigns in the US and Europe, including hosting activism events in key cities, building staff relationships with local groups, and providing materials and support for campaigns focused on cage-free accountability and shrimp welfare policy.
Anglo America
Reveal Impact LLC
Amount awarded: $9,750
Grant activities: Reveal Impact provides one-on-one leadership and executive coaching to animal advocacy leaders, helping them strengthen decision making, delegation, communication, conflict navigation, strategic leadership, and other skills needed to succeed at every level of leadership. This grant will help expand access to coaching for advocates across the farmed animal protection movement, building on a track record of coaching 29 leaders across 22 organizations in its first year.
Sentient Futures
Amount awarded: $46,083
Grant activities: Sentient Futures is building the field to ensure that the interests of animals are considered as powerful AI systems and other emerging technologies are built and deployed. This grant supports the AI×Animals Course, an eight-week program that has already trained 100 AI researchers, policy professionals, and animal advocates, and will expand to more than 200 participants in 2026.
Anonymous grant
Amount awarded: $30,000
Grant activities: General support grant for a policy advocacy organization working to protect freshwater ecosystems and the animals that inhabit them.
WISDOM Good Works
Amount awarded: $80,000
Grant activities: WISDOM Good Works is working to replace poison and traps with humane, non-lethal alternatives for city rats and mice. This grant supports contraceptive efficacy testing in San Francisco, welfare research on wild rodent populations, and policy advocacy for municipal bans on glue traps.
Africa
Animal Advocacy Africa
Amount awarded: $32,000
Grant activities: Project support for the Africa Strategy Forum, a two-day convening of approximately 25-30 senior decision-makers from African farmed animal advocacy organizations. The forum will provide structured space for movement leaders to examine strategic priorities, coordination, and evidence-informed decision-making at a critical moment of growth for the sector.
Aquatic Welfare for African Sustainability and Health LBG
Amount awarded: $37,200
Grant activities: AWASH is working to improve the welfare of farmed Nile tilapia in Ghana, starting with a pilot testing whether disinfecting fish eggs at hatcheries can reduce disease and improve survival for juvenile fishes. This grant will help AWASH expand the pilot to more farms and continue identifying further high-impact ways to improve conditions for tilapia raised in Ghana’s aquaculture industry.
SHARED
Amount awarded: $36,883
Grant activities: Project support for SHARED to embed enforceable fish welfare provisions into Ghana’s national fisheries regulations under the Fisheries and Aquaculture Act, 2025. SHARED leads the Fish Health Cluster within the government’s multi-stakeholder Technical Working Group, and will draft regulatory provisions covering duty of care, water quality, stocking density, handling, transport, and humane slaughter for Nile tilapia.
Asia
Eyes on Asia’s Factory Farms
Amount awarded: $37,000
Grant activities: The grantee is developing a “human-in-the-loop” method to map rapidly growing industrial pig and poultry farms in Southeast Asia, with a primary focus in Indonesia, the Philippines, and/or Vietnam. By refining an existing AI model and creating an engaging user-facing game, human players will review satellite images where the AI is uncertain to generate crucial new training data. Ultimately, the project will produce an open-access map of these facility locations and establish a scalable framework to accurately map animal agriculture across the broader region.
People for Animals Public Policy Foundation
Amount awarded: $30,730
Grant activities: Project support for “Promoting Cage-Free Poultry Farming for Farmer Livelihoods in India,” delivering 12 training sessions at a model cage-free farm in Uttar Pradesh and reaching over 120 poultry farmers across Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, and Uttarakhand.
Sentient Animals Vietnam
Amount awarded: $11,543
Grant activities: General support grant for Sentient Animals Vietnam, which works to improve welfare standards for ducks in Vietnam through corporate engagement and on-farm implementation support. This grant will fund a full-time Animal Welfare Officer to lead the development of a model farm for free-range duck egg production and deliver technical training to farmers and industry stakeholders.
Sentient – For All Feeling Animals
Amount awarded: $35,000
Grant activities: General support grant to build investigative capacity for farmed animal advocacy in India. Specifically, Sentient will: conduct 2–3 professional investigations documenting conditions in priority farmed animal sectors (dairy, poultry, and aquaculture); train and support India-based investigators, including through legal guidance, mental health resources, and safety protocols; establish India’s first national investigative equipment bank; and package investigative evidence for use by animal advocacy organizations, media, and corporate accountability campaigns.
Europe
Animal Activism Collective
Amount awarded: $150,000
Grant activities: Animal Activism Collective will use this grant to expand its grassroots activist network across Europe, hiring a European Grassroots Organizer, establishing local activist groups in key cities, and hosting large-scale European Convergences. The work will focus on building activist capacity to support shrimp welfare campaigns targeting major German and French retailers and maintaining accountability for cage-free commitments across Europe.
Crustacean Compassion
Amount awarded: $100,000
Grant activities: This grant will support three integrated workstreams—policy advocacy to secure the inclusion of decapods in the UK Animal Welfare Act and the Animals (Scientific Procedures) Act 1986, including pursuing bans on live boiling, live posting, and live public sales; corporate engagement through the Kinder Kitchens initiative, targeting food companies, certification schemes, and investor networks to adopt welfare-focused practices; and public campaigns to build broader awareness and mobilize support for decapod welfare.
Fundacja Psubratki
Amount awarded: $10,000
Grant activities: Bogna Wiltowska, working through Fundacja Psubratki, is an experienced animal investigator who has contributed to some of the largest-ever investigations into the European fur industry and global egg farming. With this grant, she’ll lead a new cross-border investigation into industrial animal agriculture in Central Asia—focused primarily on Uzbekistan, with additional fieldwork in a neighboring country—documenting conditions for laying hens, broiler chickens, and cattle while training a local activist to help build long-term investigative capacity in the region.
Una Terra Foundation
Amount awarded: $52,650
Grant activities: Una Terra Foundation will use this grant to advance cage-free and broiler chicken welfare in Hungary through corporate outreach and pressure campaigns targeting national retailers, government lobbying and media outreach for broiler welfare policy, national public mobilization campaigns, and movement-building through volunteer development and NGO coalition work.
Latin America
Fórum Nacional de Proteção e Defesa Animal
Amount awarded: $50,000
Grant activities: Fórum Nacional de Proteção e Defesa Animal is working to secure Brazil’s first commitment to the Better Chicken Commitment, a set of science-based welfare standards for chickens raised for meat. This grant supports pilot production trials with slower-growing breeds, partnerships with major Brazilian producers, and progress toward more humane slaughter systems—work with the potential to improve conditions for millions of chickens in the world’s third-largest chicken-producing country.
Fundación Animal Law Focus
Amount awarded: $50,000
Grant activities: Animal Law Focus is a young Chile-based organization working to hold the country’s animal farming industry legally accountable. With this grant, they’ll advance The Other Side of Meat campaign—filing enforcement actions against non-compliant farms and slaughterhouses, pushing for stronger animal welfare regulations, and pursuing precedent-setting litigation on behalf of the roughly 300 million animals raised for food in Chile each year.
Fundacion Derecho y Defensa Animal
Amount awarded: $28,000
Grant activities: General support grant to fund DYDA’s core activities, including advancing a legislative proposal to require pre-slaughter stunning for farmed fish under Chile’s Fisheries and Aquaculture Law, progressing a bill to prohibit octopus farming, securing and monitoring corporate cage-free commitments from companies and retailers, pursuing strategic litigation in animal cruelty cases involving farmed and aquatic animals, supporting an animal welfare education bill, and expanding Patitapp, their citizen digital activism platform.
Disclosures
To limit the potential influence of conflicts of interest (COIs) involving the Movement Grants review committee members and applicants, we followed ACE’s COI Policy.
In accordance with this policy, no ACE staff or Board members participated in the review or decision-making process in cases where a real or perceived conflict of interest existed. Where potential COIs were identified, additional steps were taken by ACE to mitigate the risk that individuals associated with ACE would benefit from the grants. For transparency, the following potential COIs were identified:
- Vince Mak, an ACE employee, is an advisory board member for SHARED.
- Elisabeth Ormandy, an ACE employee, engaged in leadership coaching with Reveal Impact.
- Max Taylor, an ACE employee, volunteers for Sentient Futures.
ACE is dedicated to creating a world where all animals can thrive, regardless of their species. We take the guesswork out of supporting animal advocacy by directing funds toward the most impactful charities and programs, based on evidence and research.
