Patrycia Sato
My name is Patrycia Sato. I am a Brazilian veterinarian with a master’s degree focused on broiler chicken welfare and a PhD centered on pig welfare. I nearly dropped out of veterinary school when I began studying farmed animals — which are often viewed (and treated) merely as products — but an opportunity to work in animal protection allowed me to apply my expertise in a way that brings me both personal and professional fulfillment. Consequently, I have been working with non-profit organizations since 2017, when I completed my research, and I am a co-founder of Alianima. I currently serve as the organization’s president and technical director.
